Mrs. Jessie Ruth Tiller volunteers her time tremendously, whether its working on the Historical Society’s quarterly newsletter, doing genealogy, playing the piano for First Christian Church, keeping a check on all the family cemeteries in the county, and making sure that the Cedar Grove Iron Furnace gets the attention it requires.

Trent Roberts is the owner of Top Notch Home Improvement specializing in all types of residential remodeling for the past 15 years.

Amanda Bell works with Save The Children as the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Perry County Community Collaborative. She is also a board member with the Perry County Youth Centers.

Jonathan Hickerson has worked for the public for 23 years, starting at Camp Linden when he was fourteen. He has worked the past fifteen years with the Town of Linden serving in many different positions. He has been the Director of Perry County Solid Waste for the last two months.

Blake Ayers worked for Perry County Government for 5 years. He was a very dependable young man. Not only did Blake work for the Perry County Highway Department, he held two other jobs to support his small family. He mowed on his time off, and also ran a small excavating business called “Bent Cedar Farms.”

Jimmy Andrews has been employed by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office since Dec. 4, 2019. He graduated Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy March 21, 2021.

Forrest White is a 35 year old employee of Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative.

Robby J. Moore is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, the Southeastern School of Banking at Vanderbilt University and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

After working 41 years at MLEC, Ronny choose to continue serving the public as a volunteer. He has been an active Shriner for 15 years, and served has served as a board member for MLEC for the past 5 years.

The Perry County Collaborative /Community Engagement program sponsored by Save The Children is a strengths-based approach that leverages local knowledge and resources to address a community’s unique challenges to learning.

Perry County 4-H Youth Development is a program lead by UT Extension.

The Miss Perry County Scholarship Organization holds a competition each year where the titleholder is awarded a minimum $500 Scholarship along with prize packages worth up to $750 or more.

Alison Trull believes she was nominated by her peers for the Educator of the Year award because of the years she has spent teaching, coaching, and serving the children of our great county.

Christina Hinson received her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1997 from Union University, where she maintained a 4.0 GPA.

Kim Daniel is a graduate of Perry County High School, MTSU, and is currently pursuing her MSE degree as an Interventionist at Arkansas State University.

Katie Adell Perkinson is the daughter of Michael and Ellen Perkinson. She was 2nd in her class last year with a 3.967 GPA.

Natalie King is the daughter of Jason and Kristy King and sister to Jay King of Linden. She is a senior at PCHS. Natalie has been first in her class her sophomore, junior, and senior year with a 4.0 GPA and composite ACT score of 28.

Madison Horner is a senior at Perry County High School. She is a member of Future Farmers of America, Senior Class secretary, and was named Ms. PCHS.

Joyhl Gwinn is the son of Jonathan and Pam Gwinn, and will graduate Perry County High School in May. He is in the top 5 of his class. Joyhl attended Boy's State, and maintained employment while successfully completing Dual Enrollment courses.

Ashlyn Warren is the 17 year old daughter of Wes and Christy Warren. She is a lifelong resident of Perry County. Cheer and dance have been a huge part of her life for as long as she can remember.

Lachlan Eugene Matthews is the son of Latayia Matthews and Lonnie Matthews. He has one younger brother that also plays basketball. Lachlan says if Lane puts the work in, he will definitely be better than him one day.

Carter Counterman is the son of Chris and Andrea Counterman and is a Senior at PCHS. His golf career started eight years ago in Linden Middle School. What began as a part time hobby, led to a year-round sport.

Linden Brown is the son of Nicholas Brown and Crystal Brown. He is very thankful to be nominated for Student Athlete of the year. He has loved sports since he was a child. He grew up playing all the sports a kid could play.

B&H was established in 1977 and is Perry County’s oldest operating restaurant. Locally owned and operated at the time of nomination by the Garrison family, you’ll always see a smiling face you know!

The Mixing Bowl got its start even before it officially had a name. Melissa Carroll, a lifetime resident of Perry County, is a nurse by trade but has always had a passion for cooking, baking, and feeding others.

Lucky Dogs is a liquidation store operated by Chas and Angela Miller. They’ve been in business for two years.

Mayor Ward has worked with the Town of Linden for the past 23 years, starting out as a meter reader in 2000. He has also served as Chairman of 911 since 2017. As Mayor, he has worked to improve Linden’s parks and expand public utilities into unserved areas of the county.

Billy Ray Yarbro is married to Darlene Yarbro. He is a member of the Linden Church of Christ. He has taught school for over 42 years, and he has coached basketball for 42 years.

Blake Skelton currently serves as the Principal of Perry County High School, as well as a County Commissioner for District 1. Blake has dedicated himself and his time to the success of Perry County and more specifically the county’s youth.

“My name is Angela Rhodes Williams, but to most of Perry County I’m known as Ms. Angie. I grew up in Perry County and graduated salutatorian of my class from Perry County High School.

Alycia Rosson was born and raised in Perry County. She has been happily married to Bart Rosson for the last 13 years, and they have been blessed with two children, Levi and Adelyn. They are the lights of her life, and the reason she is so committed to helping others.

Beth and her husband, Don are lifelong residents of Perry County. They were married in 1998 and have two children and two grandchildren. Beth was raised in Pineview amid her very large, close knit family whom several comprised The Pineview Gospel Singers.
