ribboncutting splashpad 1920x960Official opening of the Linden Splash Pad in the City Park on W. Main St. As the ribbon was cut, the kids were ready for the magic button to be hit and see the water to start to flow.

Town of Linden Mayor Wess Ward was pleased to make the announcement we have all been looking forward to: The Linden City Park splash pad opened Saturday, May 29th, at 12:00 noon, with a ribbon cutting and plenty of kids on hand ready to be the first to try it out.  The temperature was hovering around 63° degrees as the first group of kids were on hand to make sure the Splash Pad was really as much fun as it was promised to be.  And it was!

The splash pad will be open 7 days a week, and initial hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. There is a temporary bathroom trailer set up on the premises until the remodeled bathrooms are finished next week, and handicap parking is available right beside the entrance to the Splash Pad portion of the park.

Ground Rules:

  • Mayor Ward asks that you be respectful of others and of city property.
  • Crowds will be expected, so please be mindful of others, yourself, and your property.
  • Outside food is permitted, but no alcohol and no glass bottles.

Mayor Ward said the inception of the idea of the Splash Pad was in 2018, when he was approached by xxxxx and was told the State was offering a grant to cover half the cost of improvements to the City Park.  Three years later the park has become a reality, with a year's delay due to COVID-19 restrictions, and in a big way.

Have Fun

Above all, HAVE FUN! The Town of Linden has provided this area for the enjoyment of its residents, families, and children.  In addition to the Splash Pad, Linden City Park enjoys a playground area with slides and swings for the younger set.  Mom and Dad will enjoy the smiles on the faces and laughter coming from their children, and anticipate many memories being made here in the summers to come.
