Not Just a One-Visit Town
Memorial Day kicks off our Music on Main Street concert series, which will alternate between Linden and Lobelville throughout the summer. These free concerts feature a chance to hear some outstanding local musicians, as well as up-and-coming artists.
There's always good food, fellowship, and old-fashioned fun at these events, and we hope you will come back and experience one for yourself.
Communing With Nature
Did you know Perry County is home to a Tennessee State Park? Mousetail Landing State Park is located approximately 12 miles west of Linden, with primitive camping and camper sites. Enjoy 11 miles of scenic hiking trails, or relax at the swim beach, play on the playgrounds and courts. There is so much to do. We do ask you check in with the camp office to see what programs and activities are scheduled during your stay.
Yearning for a Simpler Life?
Take a drive to the Russell Creek and Cane Creek Mennonite communities. Visit one of several produce stands, enjoy a fabulous sandwich, shop speciality products and bulk supplies at Cane Creek Market, or visit Martin's Greenhouse to supplement your garden and landscaping.
Rich in History
If history is your thing, be sure to stop by my office at 215 East Main Street to pick up your copy of the Historic Driving Tour map. The map highlights the historic sites in Perry County, including the Cedar Grove Iron Furnace and Pinckney's Tomb.
Kayaking, Swimming and Music
The crown jewel of Perry County is the Buffalo River. Whether you enjoy canoeing, kayaking or fishing, the Buffalo River is the place for recreation and relaxation for everyone. Be sure to check out the Buffalo River Resort, north of Lobelville for kayaking, canoeing, tubing and plenty of concerts, events, and fun during the summer months. Bring your camper and cool off in the Buffalo River in the summertime.
We are also home to the Tennessee River, where it forms the western boundary of our county. It provides plentiful opportunities for catching catfish and bass, and we musn't forget pleasure boating. There is a great boat ramp on the primitive campground side of the park, where the parking has recently been repaved by the state and lights added for safety.
Y'All Come on Down!
Again, it is an honor to welcome you to our County and invite you to explore it further. We promise you won't leave disappointed, and if you have a chance, stop by our office and say hello. I'd love to chat with you and answer any questions.
