Along the banks of the Buffalo River, in rural Perry County, lies a rich history. More than a decade ago, the Tennessee Department of Transportation unearthed thousands of prehistoric artifacts.
"It's not often we actually get to find something this old and this exciting," stated March Welch, spokesperson for TDOT Archaeology. "This site dates from the Paleo-Indian period all the way up to the historic period."
Some of the artifacts are now on display at Linden City Hall, thanks to a partnership between Perry County and TDOT.
