If you are over 60, you are eligible to join the Senior Citizens Center in either Linden or Lobelville. AND there are lots of reasons to join! The Centers offer a wide array of activities and events. Activities at Tennessee Senior Centers include: Exercise and Fitness programs; Computer classes; Arts and Crafts; Games; various Educational classes; Recreational and Social activities; Health Screenings and services; Special Events and Guest speakers. Senior Centers also offer Dances and Dance classes, Clubs, Group Travel opportunities, and much more.

For a small fee, Seniors are welcome to take part in monthly day trips to destinations in Middle Tennessee. These occur on the 2nd Monday of each month. Destinations vary and you will want to sign up early to get a seat on the bus as the trips are popular! Lunch is a social event at the Senior Citizens Center and everyone is welcome to join the community table. Get together with friends for quilting, billiards, Wii, bowling or an array of other daily and weekly groups. Use the exercise equipment to stay in shape. And you celebrate holidays with festive parties! (Warning – some parties require costumes!)

One of the most popular services of the Senior Center is the door-to-door bus service. Operating Monday – Friday, you can arrange to be picked up at your home, chauffeured to doctor’s appointments, grocery, drug store, or doctors visits in Nashville and then returned to your home. The bus ride is $3 each way, but you are allowed to sneak in up to 3 extra stops along your route for $1 each. A trip to the doctor might cost $6 roundtrip, but for an extra $1 you can stop by the pharmacy on the way home.
