Perry Community Hospital
Perry County is served by the Perry County Hospital which is a 53 licensed bed facility with 33 staffed beds. The hospital in Perry County provides 24/7 care for short term acute care patients, including a staffed Emergency Department. Perry Community Hospital offers X-ray, ultrasound, CT and CCA radiologic studies and an onsite laboratory with the ability to send some lab samples to outside labs as necessary. Perry County does not offer maternity/delivery or newborn services. It does offer swing bed coverage for psychiatric admissions.
Perry County’s Medical Center is the main office of 3 Rivers Community Health Group. The main office opened in November of 1979 to provide comprehensive primary health care for people in Perry County. Having qualified as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), the facility has been successful in recruiting talented providers who are passionate about providing state-of-the-art services in more rural and medically underserved areas. The FQHC designation also allows people to receive care regardless of their ability to pay.
Perry County Medical Center offers services for the entire family from well child routine visits to women’s health, a range of primary care services and routine primary onsite lab testing with an outside lab for more extensive tests. At the facility in Lyles, dental services are offered. The Center offers care for chronic disease, including Diabetes and weight management. The Center also extends Televisits to assist those who are not able to come to the Center.
Recognizing the growing need for Behavioral Health care, the Center’s services now include both individual and group counseling for mood and anxiety diagnoses for children, adolescents and adults.
The facility is located at 115 East Brooklyn Street in Linden and is opened Monday-Friday.
Since its opening, the Community Health Center has launched a satellite practice in nearby Lyles, Tennessee, in Hickman County.
The Perry County Health Department offers immunizations and tests for certain diseases. Hepatitis A & B vaccines in addition to the HPV vaccine can be obtained at the Health Department. Tests for sexually transmitted diseases such as Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Herpes are offered along with HIV testing. HIV testing is free for uninsured patients or those with low incomes. For others, the test is billed on a sliding scale.
