Perry County Schools is a vibrant school system with actively engaged students and a faculty committed to preparing its students to preform at or beyond his/her appropriate grade level.
The County School system maintains two sets of feeder schools for its centralized high schools, Perry County High School (PCHS), which is located in Linden. The Lobelville School (Pre K-8) and the Elementary (Pre K-4) and Middle (5-8) Schools in Linden educate students in smaller and community-based settings before students enter the PCHS.
The Perry County Schools are governed day-to-day by Central Office Staff led by Director of Schools, Eric Lomax. The community elects six Board of Education Members every four years. Each year the Board elects a Chair and Vice Chair at the September board meeting. Meetings are open to the public.
School Board elections are held in August. Districts 1, 3 & 5 are elected in Mid-Term Cycles, and Districts 2, 4 & 6 are elected in Presidential years.
The Linden schools (Elementary Pre K-4, Middle 5-8 and PCHS) are known as the Vikings. The Pre K-8 Lobelville School is known as the Hornets.
