The team at Planet H2O is committed to bringing you the very freshest and cleanest, premium bottled water on the planet. This is how it all began.
In 2012, while drilling an exploratory well one-mile deep in Perry County, TN, Planet H2O Founders Jim Bruner, Carey Bruner and Rob Smithson, reached a sizeable, sealed aquifer that no one knew existed. It was a life-changing discovery. Initial laboratory tests revealed the water’s purity. Construction got underway in Linden, Tennessee, building a solar-based facility to bottle the water at its source. Bottles became available to the public in 2016.
A year later, the Planet H2O team entered their natural artesian water in the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting (held in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. It’s been the “Academy Awards of Water” since 1990) and placed in the top five in the non-carbonated category. Slowly filtered through 500-million-year-old rock layers, it contains trace amounts of calcium, magnesium, potassium, and silica, all associated with good health. The water possesses a natural alkalinity, with a pH of 8.3.
Sealed at an extreme depth, the water has never come into contact with above ground pollutants. There’s nothing to filter out. Because it can be consumed unaltered, in its natural state, it can be called “living water.” This differs vastly from most bottled waters, which are captured at the surface and then treated by reverse osmosis. The reverse osmosis process removes impurities, but also beneficial minerals, thus rendering it “dead” water. The resulting pH factor trends neutral to acidic. State and Federal geologists determined the Planet H2O aquifer to be the deepest sourced, natural artesian water in the country, and possibly the world. Thus, the aquifer is able to supply the needs of a large metropolitan city as a primary source for decades.
